A divorcee, a vegetable, and a football player walk into a bar …

Yay! Three more members of the X-men Origins: Wolverine cast have been revealed.

Ryan Reynolds, Will. i. am., and Taylor Kitsch

First, Ryan Reynolds (left) will have a cameo as Deadpool, the “Merc with a Mouth.” Wondering why he looks familiar? Definitely? Maybe (okay, cheesy, I know)? That’s because Reynolds plays the father of the little girl, played by Abigail Breslin, in Definitely, Maybe. Reynolds was also considered for the part of the Flash in the movie of the same named to be released this year (sweet).

Reynolds: Basically for me there are two superheroes that I could play. One would be Deadpool, the other would be The Flash. There are no imminent plans to do either just now.

The article by Comingsoon.net which that quote came from was last updated February 8, but it is now confirmed that he is indeed going to be portraying Deadpool in Wolverine.

Interestingly, Will. i. am. (middle) of the Black Eyed Peas will be playing the role of the mainstream version of John Wraith in the movie. … I’m not exactly sure how I feel about a hip hop/pop artist being involved in what is for me, and innumerable others, a highly anticipated movie, but I guess he has the looks down, right?

Finally, I saved the best for last. Taylor Kitsch (right), most presently known for his role on Friday Night Lights, will be playing our favorite Southern thief: Louisiana-born Remy LeBeau. That’s right, Gambit! It’s about freaking time, too! According to SuperHeroHype.com, Kitsch signed a three-picture deal. Does that mean he’ll make an appearance in Magneto? I have no idea.

Kitsch will be joining the other reported cast members of the movie: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Danny Huston as William Stryker, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, Lynn Collins as Silver Fox, and of course the previously mentioned two. There are also rumors that the Blob could make an appearance.

On another note, thanks to SuperHeroHype.com, a high-resolution picture of the Wolverine promotional shot I posted earlier is available in a size good enough for a wallpaper.

Lastly, some The Dark Knight news. The next trailer for the movie will be shown at SHOWEST in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 13, 2008. This trailer will focus on Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) and Two-Face/Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). It is rumored to premiere with 10,000 B.C. on March 7.

“Theta?! This is no time for math, goddamnit!”
