“You moved the headstones, but you didn’t move the bodies!”

(No, Batman isn’t alive as a vengeful Indian poltergeist …)

The other day I wrote up an article on why I thought Batman’s “death” in FINAL CRISIS #6 (of 7) was total crap.

Well, I was pretty convinced. But fellow Batman-On-Film writer Chris Clow discovered the most persuasive reason why our Dark Knight is still alive and will return—and it’s a damn good argument. Plus, it complies with or explains pretty much every reason I gave in my article.

Definitely check it out. Way to go, Chris! šŸ™‚

Discuss: What do you think? Is Chris right, or are we both just in denial? Sound off.

  1. I’m pretty sure Chris is right. This theory is supported by a lot of evidence. If Mr. Miracle could escape the Omega Sanction I’m sure Bats can too.
I know a lot of Batfans are hating the idea of Batman’s “spirit” being stuck in limbo but I’m OK with it I guess. If Batman exist in a world filled with supernatural elements you should expect him to have some involvement with this kind of stuff from time to time.
It just seems like kind of a hack move on Grant’s part to not go all the way and kill off Batman but trying to pull a “death of Batman” stunt anyway. Perhaps enough good story will come out of “Battle for the Cowl” and “What ever Happened to the Caped Crusader?” that it will make all of this worth it but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

  2. Sounds like hard proof to me! Chris seems to know his stuff.

Yeah, it is kind of lame. But hey, I’d rather Bruce be alive then dead, so I’m not complaining. šŸ˜€ The “limbo” part could be pretty cool, though, if worked correctly—but who knows, maybe we won’t see that much of it!

Did you read the latest DETECTIVE? Paul Dini is brilliant—best adaptation to the craziness of “RIP” so far, man.

    He’s got a point
