More Hulk than you can handle, chico!

26Jan09

(Title inspired by a Futurama quote. Good ol’ Futurama.)

Planning on picking up a copy of the brand new, double-featured Hulk Vs. movie that comes out tomorrow? I am—and it’s not just because it showcases the very first animated version of Deadpool (definitely a plus, of course).

Okay, so it’s on your list on things to buy, right? Well, if you’re a special features addict like me, you might be desperate to know what the difference is between the standard and two-disc editions of the DVD (unless you just plan on getting it on blu-ray—if so then more power to ya). After all, why buy extras you might not want when you have the choice of saving yourself a little money? MTV’s Splash Page has a great list of the differences in case you were wondering about them.

  • “Hulk Vs. Wolverine” – Audio Commentary by Supervising Producer/co-writer Craig Kyle and co-writer Chris Yost
  • “Hulk Vs. Thor” – Audio Commentary by Supervising Producer/co-writer Craig Kyle and co-writer Chris Yost
  • “First Look – Wolverine and the X-Men” featurette
  • “First Look – Thor Tales of Asgard” featurette

• Trailer Gallery

  1. Deadpool at long last!
Can’t wait to get my hands on this Blu-ray.

  2. Actually Deadpool made a handful of cameo appearances in the 90s cartoon
    like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7gZvXApYjk

And I think was even in the opening at one point, maybe from that same scene.
But this is probably the first time he’ll have a speaking role.

Which is a little sad, because I don’t think anything with real words can show the manic hilarity that Wade really shows. Though Ryan Reynolds comes close.

But, I am looking forward to picking these up.

  3. 3 WITA

Gah, your comment got caught in spam! :O Sorry about that!

Ooohhh, you’re right! 😀 Good eye, man! That’s awesome! And yeah, maybe it’s his first-time speaking role, then.

I’m anxious about Wolverine. I hope the movie—and Reynolds as Deadpool—doesn’t disappoint!

  4. Hulk vs Thor turned out to be surprisingly decent.

Here is my take on it with lots o’ pics if you are interested:
