Impulse Creations: 3-30-09

29Mar09

Finally, March’s Pull-O-Rama is up!

Remember, comments at the forum are encouraged and much appreciated. Enjoy! And check back at the end of each week for updates. No time? Subscribe to the Impulse Creations newsletter.

Suggest-a-topic is on! Is there a comic, trade, or graphic novel you’d like to see reviewed on the forums? What about something that’s been on your mind that you think is worth discussing, or someone in the industry who would make a great interviewee? Leave a comment on this post or any of my Impulse Creations weekly updates (or shoot me an email) suggesting a good article idea that you’d like to see me talk about over on the Impulse forums, and I might just take you up on it! And of course, drop your name (and homepage, if you have one) in the article as credit.

  1. I’ve been thinking about writing a post about continuity for our blog. Sort of a look at whether it’s an asset or a hindrance for readers and writers. Now, I’ve very lazy and not all that bright, so I’ll probably never actually write it. I think you should do it for me. You’re a better writer than me anyway. 😀

BTW, checked out some of your posts in “Steph’s Comic Stack.” I was pretty happy when you called R.I.P. “over-hyped,” “frustrating,” and “messy.” I’m with you, man.

  2. 2 WITA

Hahaha, will you pay me? 😉 Just kidding. Continuity is a messy thing—which is why I like indy comics more. They tend to be more focused, easier to get into, and half the time they have better stories, anyway.

Yeah, I couldn’t think of a name for that section, but “stack” works pretty well considering how many comics I read. Go job! 😛 I have a thorough review of RIP that you might enjoy over at the Girls Entertainment Network, but the conclusion basically stayed the same post-RIP as when I wrote that earlier article on Impulse.
